Located close to trendy Club Street, Club Street Social is perfect for a comfortable and hearty American fare. The brick-walled space and selection of laid-back tunes recreate the feels and vibe of a New York bistro-bar – elegant yet cosy. The menu offers everything from pulled pork Benedict, pancakes, salads and Sicilian baked eggs with tomato, burrata, spinach, and sourdough toast for brunch, to mains like and Panzanella salad and spring chicken with dukkah. This Singapore Favourite is ts the go-to spot to unwind on weekends.

Located in the hip enclave of Keong Saik, Singapore’s food heaven. The Daily Roundup serves up a ligher selection of authentic French galettes and crepes. A popular spot with professional and students for short meet-ups. It’s interior boasts an industrial meets pastel sort, marrying chic and chill to give a relaxing vibe.

Worth ordering: Hazelnut Crepe with a serving of triple chocolate ice cream

Located in a neighbourhood in Upper Thomson populated with café-goers. Habitat is a hipster-style cafe offering flavourful coffee, accented with epic latte art and a diverse menu, from Sydney-style scrambled eggs to luxe Asian Chilli Crab Linguine. Along with the chic interior creates an energetic, light, ambient space to enjoy your coffee or tea with friends, or a brunch experience.

Upper Thomas Road is perfect for cafe hopping, if you wander around the area, you will discover many cafe including this Vegan spot!  A very relaxing atmosphere with chill music and friendly staff, it is a good place to catch up and unwind with friends or family after a long week. The quality of the desserts, and its portions are the perfect size for a post lunch treat.

What to order: Brownie served with Hazelnut ice cream


Singapore Eats: Paddington House of Pancakes

Conveniently located in City Square Mall, PHOP serves up a scrumptious selection of up to 100 sweet and savoury crepes, inspired by a wide range of regions including Russia, China, Australia, France and the U.S. From mushroom & cheese hashbrown or grilled sea bass & creamy chipotle sauce galettes in the savoury selection, to Nutella or oreo, chocolate and peanut butter crepes in the sweet selection. Perfect to catch up with friends over the weekend and discover savoury and sweet crepes from around the world.

Worth ordering: Start off with the savoury California pancakes and for dessert Chocolate & Peanut Butter Crepe Roll served with Ice Cream to split.

Chijimes has done a fantastic job of getting amazing Japanese restaurants into Singapore. Tonzaemon Tonkatsu is quite affordable, with a small and intimate setting. The furniture gives it a very zen feel. The set extremely delectable meals ($25) come with free flow rice and green tea. Tonzaemon Tonkatsu is for sure a hidden gem.


Singapore Eats: Margarita’s

Location: Dempsey Hill, Singapore
Price Range: ££

Conveniently located in charming Dempsey Hill, this restaurant serves up authentic Mexican comfort food in a dimly lit, cosy and casual setting.  Margarita’s is a culinary gem, a must try for all gourmets. The menu offers chile con queso, fajitas, enchiladas, salads and much more. There are vegetarian versions of just about everything! Definitely one of my favourite on the island and arguably one of the best Mexican restaurants in Singapore.

Worth ordering: For starters, I would highly recommend Queso Fundido to split and for mains the Fajitas.
